Alain Bouisset Terres d'Albine
TERRES D ALBINE, situated in the rolling hills of the Tarne, east of Toulouse, has been producing terra-cotta earthenware since 1998. Founded by Alain Bouisset, the company has focused on decorative works for the garden, in particular, reproductions of decorative objects from as far back as the 16th Century. The family business draws on a mastery of terra-cotta earthenware perfected over five generations. The centerpiece of the company’s production is the Languedoc Vase, a stocky vase made entirely by hand, in a variety of colors and antique finishes, sizes — 60, 80 or 110 cm — and a range of motifs such as Bacchus, Fleur de lys, Classic or Vine. It also produces a range of stone works, from bouquets to Four Seasons statues, treated to give them an aged and weathered look. TERRES D ALBINE employs a new technique it developed for making vases and jars using rope. The famous “Biot” olive oil jars, with heights ranging from 60 to 130 cm were inspired by the Italian Renaissance with aged finishes resembling old pots of centuries past. Rendered with exceptional patina and aging techniques, these pots enhance the gardens of the most beautiful homes in the world.
